Biological Safety Officer Course

Provided by the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health, P2R Consortium, and Southern Biosafety Association

Join us and a collaborative network of professionals committed to advancing biosafety, public health, and organizational excellence in our shared environments.

Our comprehensive course equips professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to anticipate, assess, and control biological hazards across research, clinical, and laboratory environments.

Grounded in the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL), 6th Edition (June 2020), and the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant and Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules (April 2024), our program delivers a solid foundation in anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling biological hazards in the workplace.

Our lectures are engaging, with real-world examples, and interactive hands-on exercises. Our expert, credentialed biosafety instructors create a dynamic learning experience for participants to gain the core skills expected of a Biological Safety Officer.
